Item One — The Apron
Crossback linen apron with hand-screened botanical print, hung on wooden peg against plaster wall

Hinoki Crossback — Feb '26

Hand-Screened · Linen-Cotton · Natural Dye

The Hinoki
Crossback.

Maren Takahashi prints each apron face-down on a 72-inch light table in her Kyoto studio, pulling ink through a hand-cut screen she's been refining since 2019. The crossback ties never tangle. That's the whole point.

Fabric

55/45 linen-cotton

Print

Water-based screen

Care

Cold wash, line dry

"I wanted something you'd reach for every morning without thinking — the way you reach for a favorite mug."
— Maren T., Kyoto
02
Item Two — The Tea Towel

Vintage Botanical · Screen-Printed · 100% Cotton

The Mugwort
Tea Towel.

Pulled from an 1897 botanical atlas, the Mugwort illustration was redrawn by hand at 300% scale before being burned onto screen. The ink is permanent after the first wash.

Print Process

01

Block the screen

A hand-cut acetate stencil is taped to the mesh, stopping ink where white should remain.

02

Flood the ink

Water-based pigment floods the screen in a single, even pass — no second chances.

03

Pull the squeegee

One firm drag. The pattern transfers in under two seconds. Each pull is slightly different.

04

Heat-set & fold

A heat press at 320°F locks the pigment. The towel folds and ships within the hour.
